2019 Opening Ceremony Keynote Speaker

The ACA is excited to share that the Opening Reception with feature Keynote Speaker Michael G. Rossmann.  Please join us at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 6:30 PM for the Opening Reception followed by the Exhibit Show Reception immediately thereafter.  

Professor Michael G. Rossmann is distinguished structural biologist whose research accomplishments span over six decades and have been described in over 600 publications. He has made seminal contributions in both methodology development as well as the elucidation of structures from his early days studying small molecules to an illustrious career investigating biological macromolecules. Prof. Rossmann is the Hanley Distinguished Professor of Biological Sciences at Purdue University, where his lab currently studies viruses and their components using X-ray crystallography and electron microscopy. He is an elected member of the US National Academy of Sciences as well as of a number of other bodies, including the Royal Society of London, American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Indian National Science Academy, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and American Academy of Microbiology. Prof. Rossmann has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Fankuchen Award from the ACA and the Ewald Prize from the IUCr, as well as international honorary doctorates. He has also served on advisory boards for a variety of government and academic institutions.
